Electrical Inspections using thermal imaging or infrared technology |
| |
What is it?
It is the general inspection of a live electrical system using an infrared camera. The infrared thermographer will (with the help of an electrician) scan energized electrical equipment to see if there are any damaged connections, bad components, or improper electricity flow. This service is an extremely common application and incredibly effective. |

Why use it?
Here’s an interesting fact, electrical system failure is the second leading cause of commercial fires in the US (Arson is the first). All electrical systems will eventually fail due to thermal transients (they heat up and cool down all of the time and will eventually wear out because of this). Fortunately with infrared cameras, you can actually see electrical components malfunctioning before they fail and correct them. |
