Research and Development (R&D) Inspections using thermal imaging or infrared technology |
| |
What is it?
In short, it is a certified infrared thermographer using a special infrared camera (usually connected to a video system or dedicated hard-drive) monitoring a new product or process and recording how it behaves under certain parameters. This application is not widely used, however it is very useful when seeking to document or improve a process. |

Why use it?
Using infrared inspections during the development process allows for real-time and extremely accurate feedback that can save a lot of time and money. Companies love to spend time on what works, not trying to figure out why something isn’t working; infrared inspections in the R&D stage helps them do that. |
